The program was opened to education in 1998, within Bergama Technical and Business College, Ege University
As a Mushroom Technician, a Pre-Graduate Diploma is given to the graduates who have succesfully completed the Mushroom Program
2 Year, 4 Semesters
120 ECTS
EQF-LLL 5
Candidates must have high scholl or equivalent diploma, won the exam OSS or as a new version of OSS they must have exceeded the threshold 180 of YGS or won the exam LGS. The candidates from vocational high scholls, who are able to transfer without examination, must have exceeded the threshold 180 of LGS.
If students scored 70 and over from examinations at the beginning of fall semester for exemption of the lessons PC-1, PC-2 and Foreign Language I, Foreign Language II, they become exempt from these lessons.
To achieve weighted grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.00 on 4.00 to completeall the lessons exist in the program, successfully. In addition, at the end of the 1. and 2. classes each 30 days working internship must be successfully completed.
The purpose of Mushroom Program, to train qualified personnel for the public and private sector engaged in mushroom cultivation.
- Mantarcılık ülkemizde çok hızlı bir gelişme göstermektedir. Ama henüz istenilen boyutlara ulaşılamamıştır. Bunda ana neden mantar tüketiminin ülkemizde yeterli miktarda yapılmaması ve mantar hakkında halkımızın yeterli bilgiye sahip olmaması yatmaktadır. Şu anda iş bulma olanakları ağırlıklı olarak özel sektörde olmasının yanında tekniker ünvanı almış olan arkadaşların imkanları dahilinde kendileri de bu yetiştiriciliği yaparak iş imkanı sağlayabilirler. Ancak mantarcılığın ülkemizde hızlı gelişimi dikkate alırsak yakın gelecekte büyük bir sektör olarak iş bulma olanağı sağlayacak kanaatindeyiz. ‘ Mantar Teknikeri ‘ ünvanı ile çalışabilir
If the candidates who have successfully completed the pre-graduate education won the DGS examination, they may continue a further studies in agricultural engineering, food engineering and nutrition and dietetics department.
Meassurement and evaluation of lessons instruction applied for each lesson are defined in educational plan in detail
The students who want to study in Mushromm Programme should be robust and resistant to bodily, researcher, careful, tidy and patient while working in workshops and in the labs, enviroment-conscious, able to communicate with others well and sharing, able to follow current developments, and to be graduated they must completed 1. and 2. 30 days internship successfully.

There is two permanent lecturer (Dr.) working in our program. In Yusuf Perin Campus, in Bergama, there are 2 x 35 m2 mushroom growings room with have computer-controlled air-conditioning system, 120 m2 compost preparation floor, 20 m2 tunnel, 20 m2 spawning room, 16 m2 warehouse, 25 m2 students application and a relaxation room. Also, there is mushroom lab.
