The objective of Textile Chemistry course which is a basic course for textile engineering is to explain the chemical structures and chemical properties of fibers.



1 To realize the chemical structure, general properties and supramolecular structure of cellulosic fibers
2 To realize the chemical structure, general properties and supramolecular structure of protein fibers
3 To realize the chemical structure, general properties and supramolecular structure of synthetic fibers
4 To classify the fibers
5 To explain the effects of various chemicals to the fiber properties
6 To explain the effects of various environment conditions to the fiber properties

8 Chemical properties of polyester fibers. The effects of water, acids, alkalis, The effects of reductive, oxidative agents, light, atmospheric conditions and high temperature over polyester fibers.

12 Chemical properties of polyacrylnitrile fibers. The effects of water, chemical agents, high temperature, light and open-air conditions to the polyacrylnitrile fibers.
