Objectives of the Course

This course provides students with a historical perspective on children's rights, how children's rights are discussed from different perspectives, and what the duties of family, state and other institutions are in terms of protecting children's rights. In addition, giving information about the rights of children with special needs, special protection and precautions, and institutions and organizations related to children's rights are among the objectives of the course. In addition, within the scope of the importance and purposes of family education; The importance of family participation in education is emphasized within the scope of family education models, examples of family education studies in the world, methods and techniques used in the preparation/implementation and evaluation of family education programs, and family participation studies in early childhood.

Learning Outcomes

1	List the basic concepts and principles related to law.
2	Have knowledge about the laws regarding children and explain the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
3	Interprets legal regulations for socially disadvantaged children.
4	Summarizes and compares child law in the world and in Turkey.
5	Discusses child law. Gains knowledge about the importance of family education in terms of the correct use of children's rights.
6	Can explain the importance of the role model family in children's life.
7	Explain the theoretical foundations and basic concepts of family education and participation.
8	Can give examples of family problems and services for children, and explain cooperation with children with special needs and their families.

Content of the Course

The course includes information about children's rights. In addition, the importance and purposes of family education, family education models, examples of family education studies in the world, preparation/implementation and evaluation of family education programs, methods and techniques used, family participation in education within the scope of family participation studies in early childhood are included. It is even planned to invite experts in their fields to participate as guests from time to time.
