The aim of this course is to provide the competencies to comprehend the basic strength information to be encountered in design, to classify machine elements according to their properties, to calculate the strength of machine elements and to select the appropriate element.



1 Defines the elements of the machine and the machine.
2 Be able to classify machine elements.
3 Defines the load and the forces acting on the machine elements
4 Controls the strength of the machine elements as a result of the forces and moments acting on them.
5 Can dimension machine elements in design.
6 Calculates the deformations of the machine element as a result of the physical quantities acting on the machine elements.
