This course employs a systems approach to understanding earth’s physical environment by examining the large-scale components and processes of the earth system. Understanding the interaction of these elements and their natural variability in space and time. Content will emphasize climate change dynamics, biogeochemical cycles, and land use patterns and their feedback relationships with the atmosphere, hydrosphere and lithosphere.
1 | To be able to describe the climate forcings and feedback process as well as complex interactions with the various components of the climate system. |
2 | To be able to describe palaeoclimate proxies and dating methods. |
3 | To provide a sound the key terminology pertaining to the climates of the past |
