General Description

Ph.D. Program in Educational Administration, Supervision, Planning, and Economy started in September 2009.

Students, who have successfully completed the program, take the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) and get certificate in Educational Administration, Supervision, Planning, and Economy.

Specific Admission Requirements Having a master's degree in Educational Administration, Inspection, Planning and Economics. or a master's degree from one of the sub-disciplines of Public Administration and being a teacher or having a training Graduation from Educational Sciences or one of the sub-disciplines of Educational Sciences with a Master's degree.

Having an undergraduate or graduate certificate with cumulative grade point average of at least 70 points, having at least 55 points in ALES, having at least 55 points in one of the standard exams of English, French and Deutsch.

The diploma of Ph.D in Educational Administration, Supervision, Planning and Economy is given to students who successfully complete at least 24 credits (60 ECTS) of the Educational Administration, Supervision, Planning and Economy courses; received cumulative grade point average of at least 75 points out of 100 and successfully pass an oral examination in defense of the dissertation.

The aim of this program is to train researcher who can contribute to a disciplinary field of Educational Administration, Supervision, Planning and Economy with the studies/publications by prioritizing scientific method and ethical principles. There are compulsory and optional courses related to Educational Administration, Supervision, Planning and Economy and scientific research methods in the Ph.D program.

Graduates with doctorate degree in Education Management, Inspection, Planning and Economics work in various institutions and organizations (public schools, military schools, private schools, some public institutions, etc.) as education manager, education inspector, education economist and education planner etc. As well as working with titles, they can work as school director, inspector and assistant in private and public education institutions. Those considering an academic career can work as an academic staff at state and foundation universities.

Graduates of this program can apply for a post-doctorate program.

There are seven professors, eleven associate professor and five assistant professors in department of Educational Science. There are 25 classrooms, three computer labs, one science lab and projection in each classroom and lab in the classroom building of Education Faculty. Moreover, there are 15 notebooks, six projections, recording devices and cameras for instruction and research projects. The three computer labs have a capacity of 130 students. There is a central library in Bornova campus.
