Ege University Institute of Social Sciences, Basic Sciences Turkish Music Doctorate Programme was founded in the spring semester of 2017-2018 academic year.

55 points or more from KPDS, ÜDS, YDS or an equivalent score from other exams approved by Inter-university Board. The examinations of Ege University Foreign Languages Department are not accepted. Passing the oral examination of our institution.

The previous formal education is accepted.

Profile of The Programme
An education plan aiming to give student the necessary ability to carry out researches and create publications in the field of Turkish Music is applied. To give the candidate scientists the potential of developing new methods and and theories in the field of Turkish music is amongst the primary objectives of the programme. The tendency to approach research subjects with a multi-disciplinary point of view satnds out in the programme where methods and techniques executed by different disciplines of cultural sciences are handled. Turkish music history, socio-cultural aspects of music creation and transmission processes, analysis of the music creationa dn listening behaviors constitute the frame of programme content.

The prerequisite to be empolyed as faculty member in universities is fulfilled by wining the doctorate degree.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Assignments, presentations and midterm examinations are used to asses the student within the year and written final examination is done at the end of the year.
Graduation Requirements
Having the passing grade from the compulsive and selective courses and defending the thesis after its completion.
