Established with the establishment of Ege University in 1955 and started education and preferred at the national and international level, the world will compete in the standard of academics and model training of nurses who continue their education activities with the aim of becoming an educational institution Faculty of Nursing, in our country and European undergraduate level education in Turkey With the decree dated 26.09.2011 and numbered 2011/2276 of the first Nursing School established and the Council of Ministers, it is the third Faculty of Nursing and this decision was published in the official newspaper dated 24.10.2011. Based on scientific developments, Ege University Faculty of Nursing has determined it as its mission to educate undergraduate and graduate level nurses who have ethical values, effective communication, problem solving and research skills, can make change, respect human rights, have autonomy, lead leadership, to respond to the health needs of the society. 1546 students of Ege University Faculty of Nursing as of the 2022-2023 academic year; There are 27 full-time Professors, 17 Associate Professors, 7 Associate Professors, 3 Lecturers and 42 Research Assistants. The education program at Ege University Faculty of Nursing includes a five-year nursing education, one year of which is a compulsory English preparatory program and the last year is internship. 30% English education is provided in the program.
The Bachelor`s Degree in Nursing ( first cycle in Nursing) is awarded to the graduates who have successfully completed all courses in the curriculum.

The general acceptance and admission requirements are explained in “General Admission and Acceptance Requirements of Students” under the title of “About Ege University” part.
The rules and regulations for recognition of formal prior learning are well defined. Transfer can be made among the institutions of which equivalency is recognized by Higher Education Council. Also successful vocational school graduates to continue their educaiton to obtain Bachelor’s degrees if they are successful in the selection and the placement examination (DGS, i.e. vertical transfer examination) are admitted. The courses to be taken by these students are determined by the relevant department, on the basis of courses they have completed in the programs from which they have graduated. Recognition of prior non-formal and in-formal learning is at the beginning stage in Turkish Higher Education Institutions. Ege University and hence of the Department is not an exception to this. However, exams of exemption are organised at the start of each year at the University for the courses of English Language and Computer Skills. The students who have completed the proficiencies for these courses on his/her own or through other means, and believe that they have achieved the learning outcomes specified are given the right to take the exemption exam. The students who achieve a passing grade from these exams are held exempt from the related course in the curriculum.
Students must obtain a grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and successfully pass all courses on the programme (equivalent to a total of 240 ECTS).
The Faculty of Nursing undergraduate program carries out an education program in line with the Integrated Education model. There are compulsory and elective courses in Turkish and English in order to train modern nurses who are equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies that can serve in accordance with scientific developments in every field of the nursing profession, are aware of the health needs of the society, absorb ethical values and adopt the importance of lifelong learning.
Graduated students could work as a clinic nurse in primary, secondary and teritary health care centers, Office nurse, school health nurse, administrator or educator nurses.
The bachelor’s degree graduates who have passed the national upper graduate entry and english language exams are eligible to apply for Master’s or Doctorate (Phd) Degree Programmes.
According to Ege University Assessment and Evaluation Principles Instruction, how to make the practices and exams are determined and announced by decision of The Faculty Comittee. Students must attend 70% of the theoretical classes, 80% of practices and 80% of laboratory studies. Students must attend classes, practices and examinations. Students` attendance is followed by the Instructor concerned. Dates of midterm examinations are announced by the Department in the first month of the semester. Implementation of a vocational course the student must take at least 60 grade to be successful. Vocational course success grade is calculated by adding each practice areas mean grades. The students who are failed and/ or not attend to the vocational courses, are required to retake this course. The type and contribution of the educational activities such as reports, homeworks, quizzes, seminar presentations or individual oral discussions, and performance in laboratory work on the assessment are announced by the instructor at the beginning of the semester. For evaluating practice of students, the instructor determine the score of the student by using nursing care plans, seminars, reports and performance of practice of student. Students could not taken the final exam if she/ he is disqualified for practice. At the end of each professional course, the final exam which is according to the weight of the modules is performed at the end of the year. To attend the final and make-up exam, the students should obey attendance requirement of theoretical, laboratory and practice and should be successful from the implementations. Students who are failed from the courses, should enter make-up exam which is performed in specified date in the make-up week. Make-up exam is considered as the final exam. The students who are failed and/ or not attend to the professional courses, are required to repeat failed professional course and can not take professional course of the next year. The success states of the students are specified by Grade Point Averages (GPA, fourty percent of the midterm exam) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA, sixty percent of the final exam ) computed at the end of each term. Students whose CGPA values are below 60 are considered failure. Students are given a make-up examination for any examination which they have not attended if it is accepted by the Faculty Administrative Comittee that there exist genuine and valid reasons for this.
